If you (or anyone) wants to PR, the class itself is comparatively easy to wrap - I'd accept a wrapper that just mocks over the standard workspace to start!

This will make some of you roll your eyes, but: this is why I write in Rust 99% of the time.

Even my bad code in Rust is arguably fine, and I find I automatically hit a balance of "this feels shitty, but it's working, and reliable enough so I can move on".
